Show off your jam-making skills in Lucky Ladd Farms Best Strawberry Jam in Middle Tennessee Contest! The contest takes place during our exciting Pickin' & Grinnin' Strawberry Jam Festival. Each jam entry will be judged on both appearance and taste. Winners may earn up to $100 cash prize!
Entry Details:
- Delivery of Entries: Participants may drop-off entries between 2pm-6pm on May 2-4, or from 12pm-2pm on May 5, 2024. Participants must provide one 6-8 oz jar of jam, an entry form, and pay a $10 entry free.
- Entry Drop-Off Location: Participants will drop off their entries to the Gift Barn, located at the front of Lucky Ladd Farms next to admissions.
- Judging: Judging will begin shortly after submissions close on Sunday afternoon.
- Judging Criteria: Judges will assign a numerical value (1-5) for each of the following four criteria, without consultation with the other judges.
(1.) Overall appearance,
(2.) Texture,
(3.) Consistency,
(4.) Overall taste.
The jam with the highest total numerical value is the winner. In the case of a tie, the judges will judge only those jam's again. The decision of the judges is final. Judges will not know contestant names. - Prizes: Awards will be provided to the top three scoring jams . First Place will receive $100 cash prize and bragging rights as the "Best Strawberry Jam Maker in Middle Tennessee!" Second Place will receive a $50 cash prize, and Third Place will receive a $25 cash prize.
- Winners Announced: Winners will be announced on Monday, May 6, 2024 and shared on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
