Concessions Assistant Manager


JOB DESCRIPTION

Lucky Ladd Farms, an award winning agritourism destination, is seeking a full-time year-round Assistant Food Service Manager ready to grow their skill-set with our team.
The Assistant Manager is the "boots-on-the-ground" person responsible for the day-to-day operation of the farm’s concession stands including cooking, baking, prepping and overseeing staff. They will actively engage and manage cleanliness, organization, product quality, customer service, inventory and food safety. This position requires a positive, energetic leader who can organize and delegate, as well as saddle up to the job and get their hands dirty. This position has been created as a training path to become our primary Food Service Manager in the future and is perfect for an individual wanting to advance their career into upper management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day operations:
  • - Open and close concessions according to written procedures.
    - Perform the duties of main cook. This includes prepping and cooking foods for service throughout the day.
    - Maintain clean and organized kitchens and supply areas.
    - Follow, self-educate and enforce health and safety regulations and policies.
    - Present concerns and maintenance items at staff meetings.
  • Oversee concession staff:
  • - Train concession employees in their assigned job responsibilities.
    - Ensure company policies and procedures are followed. This includes cooks, bakers, assistants, prep cooks, stockers/runners and pavilion attendants.
    - Assist with hiring as needed.
    - Assist with staff scheduling.
    - Supervise and motivate concession team members to achieve sales goals.
    - Ensure staff delivers quality customer service and oversee quality control of food at all times.
    - Maintain a pleasant, enjoyable and fun work environment.
    - Oversee cashiers and balancing of cash drawers as needed.
    - Ensure each concession station is fully stocked and manage inventory and pricing.
    - Stock concessions with food and supplies for service.
  • Ensure all concession areas have packaged food products in display windows and on counters at all times during service.
  • Maintain and manage accurate inventory on a weekly basis. Order supplies weekly. Pick up supplies as needed. Check-in food deliveries.
  • Monitor and evaluate costs and make recommendations for pricing adjustments per season.
  • Develop and/or improve existing menu items to increase profitability.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • If you do not love kids or enjoy working with the public then this is not the job for you.
  • Ability to work independently on daily tasks as well as cooperate with a team.
  • Previous food service and kitchen experience a preferred.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time and can bend, stoop, extend oneself etc., that is required to perform assigned tasks.
  • Able to consistently lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays outside normal hours during peak seasons. We believe in a work/life balance an keep this to a minimum as much as possible.

SCHEDULE (varies by season)

  • November-March: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm
  • April-October: Tuesday-Saturday from 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Late-September-October: Thursday-Saturday we work until 7:00pm and Sundays from 10:00am-6:00pm

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary ranges from $2,080-$2,480 / month, depending on experience.

Animal Care Internship

Animal Care Internship Opportunities

Our goal is to provide interns a basic understanding of general husbandry practices for a variety of domesticated and exotic animals. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the field while learning the day-to-day responsibilities of a full-time livestock Farmer and/or Zookeeper.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting full-time keepers with projects
  • Preparing animal diets
  • Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures and exhibits
  • Observing animals and reporting any behavioral changes
  • Maintaining area grounds and buildings
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Special Projects (may vary):
    • Designing and delivering educational interpretation to the general public regarding animal behavior, habitat and conservation issues
    • Develop and implement animal enrichment activities
    • Develop and present ideas for positive contributions to enhance the guest experience at the Farm.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum second-year College Student or recent graduate in Zoology, Biology, Wildlife Management, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine or related program.
  • 3.0 or above accumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale preferred.
  • Prior animal care experience preferred.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments successfully.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on daily tasks as well as cooperate with a team.
  • Ability to work a set schedule which will include mornings and weekends 3-5 days per week.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work with a large variety of animals.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • We are not accepting international students at this time.

SCHEDULE & DURATION

  • Minimum commitment of 30 hours/week for 12 to 16 weeks
  • College students are encouraged to seek class credit, but it is not required. Academic requirements for institution credit are the responsibility of the student intern to fulfill.

Photography and Videography Internship


JOB DESCRIPTION

Build your resume at Lucky Ladd Farms, one of Tennessee's most beloved and award-winning agritourism destinations, serving thousands of visitors each year. Your original work will be shared to social media followers, media outlets and publications, Farm visitors and members. A unique opportunity to showcase your work and practice your skills.
Our goal is to provide interns with an immersive experience. Interns will develop photo and video content to help support marketing and communications. Work will include capturing and producing photos and video footage of the Farm including documenting daily antics of the animal residents; brand storytelling through guest experiences including people during their visit and staff-members; landscapes and architecture around the Farm highlighting cultivation, crops and harvest.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce media showcasing a wide variety of subject matter including animals, people, landscape and architecture consistent with the Lucky Ladd Farms brand.
  • Take and edit photos.
  • Film and edit short engagement clips and video.
  • Learn and gain experience in brand development, marketing and promotion.
  • Special Project:
    • Create a digital media library utilizing Dropbox. Upload, categorize and tag new and existing photos and videos for shared use and support in the development of marketing and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with photography/videography.
  • Experience in animal photography a plus.
  • Passion for communicating compelling stories through visual media.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate and work with supervisor, sometimes remotely.
  • Understanding of how to work within brand guidelines and the ability to take direction.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Photo and video editing skills including experience with Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie or comparable software.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must adhere to all safety protocol while on Farm grounds.
  • Physically capable of navigating varied terrain.

SCHEDULE & DURATION

  • Start and ending dates are flexible with a minimum commitment of 10 hours/week for 12 to 16 weeks. Some Saturdays may be required.
  • Attendance to most special events and/or festivals scheduled during internship is required.

Each position has different qualifications. These positions are for temporary seasonal employment.
